JR. PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND SCHEDULE
THE
DILLON YACHT CLUB ESTABLISHED ITS’ JR. PROGRAM IN
SUMMER OF 2002. SINCE THEN THE CLUB HAS BEEN EDUCATING STUDENTS
EVERY SUMMER USING PICO AND HUNTER SAILBOATS.
Dear Parents,
The
Dillon Yacht Club is gearing up for another wonderful teaching
season at the nation’s highest yacht club based at
9017ft. We are very excited to get this season underway
as the program continues to grow and expand each and every
year. The juniors need your help as the program is a Colorado
registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit and can only survive by
the generous contributions from individuals and the business
communities that are based from the town of Dillon, to surrounding
counties and all the way to the front range of Denver. One
can always get involved and have the piece of mind that
your contribution will be put to its fullest extent to educate
or next generation of sailors.
“Once you see the determination in a young sailors
eyes, you develop a sense of compassion knowing that oneself
has been there before”

Teachers
are certified Level 1 Instructors
We are offering classes to 70 students from June 26 to Aug
11, 2006. These are one week four day classes from Monday
to Thursday. Students can range between the ages of 10 to
18 with beginner to advanced skill levels being taught.
The
Town of Dillon and Dillon Marina support our juniors.
The town of Dillon handed out more than $163,000 in 2005
to local nonprofit organizations in the form of labor costs,
reduced or waived rental fees, lowered or free fees and
cash donations. The Dillon Yacht Club received $4,103.11
through staff time, slip rentals and dry storage. The future
use of this plan is to develop a docking facility that will
allow the students to access the boats much easier having
to pull them out onto the shore that was lined with old
carpet. The program also plans to construct a storage rack
to properly store the boats and marina kayaks in their own
location.
